‘No One Gave Up’: Auburn Players Say They’ll Be Back

” It was a locker room that Ricardo Louis didn’t want to see, not after Auburn kept coming back, not after the Tigers fell just short in a 41-38 loss to Texas A&M.

” Some people with their heads down, some people encouraging others. But at the end of the day, we’ll just come together as a team as we always do,” Louis said Saturday night.

Auburn fumbled twice late in the game in Jordan-Hare Stadium, losing both, and losing a chance at victory. Auburn fell to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the SEC.

” It’s a tough pill to swallow,” Louis said. “We have a whole bunch of winners on this team, and losing is always a bad feeling.”

” We’re a championship team,” said receiver Quan Bray. “We still believe in that.” “

” Auburn, which had mastered the late comeback win the last two years, saw the tables turned with the late miscues. Louis was seemingly involved in another comeback when quarterback Nick Marshall connected with him for a long pass, but, a short time later, Auburn fumbled on the 3 with 2½ minutes left. Auburn turned it over again at the 29 with less than a minute to play on a bad snap.

” We were going to win the game,” Bray said.
Only last week, Auburn beat Ole Miss in a similar fashion when the Tigers made the play that forced Laquon Treadwell to fumble just before he crossed the goal line with just over a minute to play. Auburn won that won 35-31. Not this time, even though Auburn’s defense allowed only six points in the second half.”

The Hidden Military Fortress Found Underneath Alcatraz

” Researchers have found a hidden military fortress, thought to have been destroyed previously, beneath the former Alcatraz Prison, where notable prisoners, such as Al Capone, George “Machine Gun” Kelly and Mickey Cohen were once imprisoned.

According to scientists, there is more history to “the Rock” than just crime and punishment. Researchers from Texas A & M have gone to Alcatraz to learn more about the hidden history beneath the prison walls.

” That’s ground-penetrating radar,” according to professor Mark Everett.

” The cart has a transmitter and a receiver – it sends an electromagnetic wave into the ground that then reflects off all the different structures underneath.

” Much like medical imaging would make a scan of the body, we are making a scan of the ground under the rec yard.” By using the science, the team has found a military fortress from the 1800s, which experts had believed was destroyed.”

” Student happiness is one of the most sought-after characteristics of four-year colleges and incoming students. To measure how well the nation’s schools are doing, we considered full-time freshman retention rate according to the National Center for Education Statistics for 25% of the methodology. For the remaining 75%, we turned to College Prowler for student ratings on the overall student experience and whether they would do it all over again, as well as the quality of the student health center.”

AUBURN DEFENSE THROWS JOHNNY MANZIEL FOR A LOSS

Sack

” Johnny Football was poised for one of his patented dramatic finishes, putting up big numbers, coming back from a fourth-quarter injury, leading Texas A&M to the Auburn 18-yard line with less than a minute to play.

Dee Ford would have none of another Johnny Manziel fairy tale.

The Auburn defensive end sacked Manziel twice in the final 30 seconds, including on A&M’s last-gasp play, as the Tigers knocked off the No. 7 Aggies 45-41 in Kyle Field on Saturday. “

” Both teams gave up plenty of yards, but it was Auburn’s defense that saved the day. Manziel lost 22 yards on the Aggies’ last play.

Auburn led  once in the first half, then again at 38-34 with 9 minutes left in the game. But Manziel got his TD run with 5:05 left, setting up some big-time offense — not by Texas A&M but by Auburn. The Tigers went 75 yards on 13 plays and took the lead with 1:19 left.

Manziel wasn’t through, quickly moving the Aggies to the Auburn 18. No farther, though. “
