Reaper Drone Crashes Into Lake Ontario

” Oswego (WSYR-TV) – The Air National Guard says the search for a MQ-9 Reaper drone that crashed into Lake Ontario early Tuesday afternoon has been suspended due to weather.

The Coast Guard has dispatched a 47-foot vessel from Oswego and a helicopter from Buffalo to aid in the search. Both have night capabilities.

All local 174th flying operations have temporarily been suspended as the investigation gets underway.

According to Col. Semmel, the reaper was in the air for approximately three hours before it crashed into the water during a training exercise, 20 miles north of the Port of Oswego and 12 miles west of the shoreline around 1 p.m. on Tuesday. “

” Officials say there were no weapons or hazardous materials on the craft and say no one was injured during the incident.

Col. Semmel confirms that the craft remained in approved military airspace after it took off from Fort Drum, the only location in the region where the MQ-9 Reaper is currently allowed to depart.

The drones are also cleared to fly over parts of Onondaga, Oswego, and Madison counties during training exercises.”

Soldier Refuses Pentagons Order To Hide His Christianity, It’s ‘My Right Under the Constitution’

Admiral William Lee

” At a time when faith in the military is under deliberate assault by the Obama Administration, some of our brave warriors are apparently not backing down.

One of them is U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. William D. Lee, who was present at the 62nd observance of the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C, as lawmakers and faith leaders gathered on Capitol Hill. Adm. Lee was there to represent Americans serving in the military.

When he ascended to the microphone, Adm. Lee told the crowd he had 10 minutes of carefully prepared remarks, but he decided to leave them in his chair and “speak from the heart” instead.

Describing himself as “a man of deep abiding faith who happens to wear a uniform,” the admiral then went on to announce his intention to defy any efforts to stop military personnel from openly sharing their Christian faith.”

Explosions, Fire On Fuel Barges In Mobile, Ala

” Firefighters from Mobile, Ala., and U.S. Coast Guard crews responded Wednesday night to four explosions and a fire on fuel barges in the Mobile River.

Officials were responding to two explosions and a fire at natural gas barges when a third explosion occurred, Mobile Fire and Rescue spokesman Steve Huffman said. It was not immediately clear if the third explosion was on one of the barges that were already engulfed in flames.

A fourth explosion was reported just before 10 p.m. CDT.”

” CBS affiliate WKRG Mobile reported of no fatalities. Three people were hospitalized with burns and information on their conditions was not immediately available.

Fire officials said they planned to let the barges burn into the night because the situation was too unstable.

The explosions happened in an area of the river east of downtown Mobile, Huffman said. U.S. Coast Guard Petty Ofc. Carlos Vega said the blast happened in a ship channel near the George C. Wallace Tunnel — which carries traffic from Interstate 10 under the Mobile River.”

” When the boat-show season ramps up each fall, we begin sensing trends within the industry. As we gather details for our annual preview, those vague feelings solidify. For instance, this year, we included a category new to these listings — dual-console boats. Manufacturers have seen the need to blend multiple family uses into a fishing vessel; the DC fits that bill.

You’ll also see a few reintroductions of boats that were announced in 2012 but never brought to market. A few more are heavily updated models whose builders chose not to rename the lines. This year, we present 34 new boats — from an 18-foot skiff to a 47-foot express.”

Meet The Versabar 10000 Oil Rig Retriever

” Some of you might be asking: “Why would anyone come up with something so huge?” Well consider this. It takes a team of divers several months to cut apart a downed oil platform, lift it up to the surface piece-by-piece, and transport to land. VB 10000 can to the same task in just a few hours and for a quarter of the price. ”

What A Monster

Watch the Versabar Salvage the Unsalvageable

” Salvaging a downed oil platform takes months, as a team of divers cuts apart the rig and a derrick hauls each piece to the surface. The VB10000 can remove an entire rig in a few hours, for a quarter of the price. Last fall, Versabar’s $100-million monster completed its first lift off the coast of Louisiana.

Divers connected hooks to the platform trusses, cut the platform legs away, and four hoists picked the whole thing up. About as wide as a football field and as tall as a 25-story building, the VB10000 is desperately needed—U.S. regulators have identified 1,800 rigs that must be removed within 10 years.

A Bad Day On The Water

” MIAMI. — An 80 foot yacht named “Bliss” was anything but blissfull.

The yacht caught fire and then started to sink. You can see the stern is completely under water.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the yacht caught fire about a mile off the coast of Miami Beach.

The Coast Guard was in the process of boarding the vessel for a routine inspection when it caught fire.

The three passengers on-board jumped into the water and were rescued by the Coast Guard. Luckily no injuries were reported.”
