13 Dead, 14 Wounded In Shooting At D.C. Navy Yard, Including Gunman

” At least 13 people died Monday and 14 were injured in a mass shooting inside a heavily secured building at the Washington, D.C., Navy Yard, in one of the worst shootings ever at a U.S. military facility, and one of the deadliest single events ever in the nation’s capital.

The gunman, 34-year-old Aaron Alexis of Fort Worth, Texas, is among the dead. U.S. Navy officials reported none of the casualties were individuals in the military.

When it was over, Alexis, a former Navy reservist from Ft. Worth, Texas, who recently began work as a civilian contractor, lay dead amid an armload of weapons. Sources told News4 that surveillance footage showed that he began his attack with a shotgun, but was found with a 9mm pistol and an AR-15 assault rifle.

Alexis appears to have seized firearms from two of his victims as he moved through the building along the Anacostia River in southeast Washington, where 3,000 Navy employees go to work each day, many of them carrying authorized firearms.”

Chew on that Feinstein , Schumer , et al … Here’s more about the dead suspect . Apparently he was no stranger to violence or the police .

D.C. Shooter Went on “Anger-Fueled” Rampage in Seattle in 2004

Before the gun controllers come screaming out of the woodwork perhaps they should ponder these questions : Since DC is essentially a “gun free” zone , how did the shooter(s) get his gun ? Since military bases are “gun free” zones how did the shooter(s) get inside it ? Also , since there are armed guards , electronic locks and metal detectors on military bases how did the shooter(s) succeed? And lastly , given that nearly all the prerequisites for a “gun free , safe” environment were in place yet failed to stop a determined shooter(s) and the armed State cannot even defend it’s own workers on it’s own home ground , how are the average citizens of the country supposed to expect any better protection from you , the State ?

US Submarine Forces Decline As China, Russia, Iran Advance Warfare Capabilities

” China, Russia, and Iran pose regional and strategic submarine threats and are building up undersea warfare capabilities as the Navy is cutting its submarine force by 30 percent, the admiral in charge of Pentagon submarine programs told Congress on Thursday.

Rear Adm. Richard Breckenridge, director of Navy undersea warfare programs, said the decline of U.S. submarines is placing a key U.S. military advantage at risk.

“Our adversaries are not standing still, and so even though we have an advantage and we have a lead, we can’t sit on our lead,” Breckenridge told a hearing of the House Armed Services seapower subcommittee.”

Top U.S. Admiral Puts Cyber Security On The Navy’s Radar

” Cyber security and warfare are on par with a credible nuclear deterrent in the defense priorities of the United States, the U.S. Navy’s top admiral said on Monday, after the Pentagon accused China of trying to hack into its computer networks.

Admiral Jonathan Greenert, the chief of naval operations, told Reuters the defense department’s cyber program had continued unabated despite the political gridlock about the U.S. budget deficit and enforced spending cuts in other areas.

“The level of investment that we put into cyber in the department is as protected or as focused as it would be in strategic nuclear,” Greenert said in an interview in Singapore just before the start of the three-day Reuters Cybersecurity Summit in Washington (link.reuters.com/dam97t).”

US Sailor Thwarts Dubai Bus Driver Rapist After Putting Him In Strangehold With Her Thighs And Then Beating Him Into Submission

” An off-duty US navy sailor wrestled a bus driver to the ground and beat him into submission after he attempted to rape her at knife point, a court heard yesterday.

Prosecutors said that she knocked the knife from his hand, broke it in two, bit him in the hand, forced him to the ground and locked him between her thighs.

The woman, 28, was on 24-hour shore leave in Dubai and was attacked as she returned to the port where she was based after a day shopping.”

Littoral Combat Ship Network Can Be Hacked, Navy Probe Finds

”  The computer network on the U.S. Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship is vulnerable to hacking, according to findings by Navy cybersecurity specialists.

A “red team” assigned to test weaknesses in computer systems found major deficiencies last year on Lockheed Martin Corp.’s USS Freedom, said a government official familiar with the findings who asked not to be identified because the Navy report hasn’t been made public. The Freedom, the first of the new ships to be deployed, sailed to Singapore last month for eight months of testing of its manning and logistics operations.

The estimated price to build each vessel has doubled to $440 million, and its ability to survive to fight after an attack has been questioned.

The Littoral Combat Ship depends for its combat capability on communicating with better-armed vessels through its “Total Ship Computing Environment,” a maritime battle network linked by computers and sensors. The Navy and the Pentagon’s weapons testing office declined to say whether the vulnerabilities would affect operations of the ship or coordination with other vessels.

The program may face added scrutiny this year, starting tomorrow with a hearing on Navy ship programs convened by the House Armed Services Committee’s seapower panel. The U.S. Government Accountability Office also is working on a review that may be published in June.

The LCS depends on mission modules that are supposed to be swapped out depending on the duty at hand. The GAO said last month that the Navy plans to purchase 30 of a planned 52 vessels by 2018, before the first fully combat-capable modules for surface warfare, counter-mine operations and anti-submarine patrols are ready.

The modules the Navy has accepted so far “do not yet meet requirements,” GAO said.”

Veteran Threatened With Arrest For Questioning Gun Ban

” In Obama’s Kingdom, any veteran who dares to verbally question an elite politician on gun control legislation is now considered a criminal and will face arrest and possible imprisonment. This month, U.S. Navy veteran Geoff Ross merely picked up his phone (so hostile, I know) and called Connecticut Governor Daniel P. Malloy’s office with a few questions about the state’s new ban on large capacity ammunition magazines and so-called “assault” weapons.

Ross asked Malloy’s office questions such as: “Do the Governor and his staff own guns themselves?” and “Does the Governor’s office understand the reason behind the 2nd Amendment?” To these perfectly rational and peaceful questions, the Governor’s aids replied that it was: “none of his damn business.” When Ross was persistent and kept calling, Malloy’s aids hung up on him FIVE TIMES and ultimately an aid named Melissa threatened him by saying that she would send the police after him if he did not stop speaking out.

” The U.S. Navy is shifting a guided-missile destroyer in the Pacific to waters off the Korean peninsula in the wake of ongoing rhetoric from North Korea, U.S. defense officials said. The USS Fitzgerald is capable of intercepting and destroying a missile, should North Korea decide to fire one off, the officials said. Still, U.S. defense officials insist that there is nothing to indicate that North Korea is on the verge of another launch.  The White House on Monday said the United States hasn’t seen large-scale movements from North Korean military forces in the aftermath of harsh rhetoric from the reclusive government. ”I would note that despite the harsh rhetoric we are hearing from Pyongyang, we are not seeing changes to the North Korean military posture, such as large-scale mobilizations and positioning of forces,”

” A 19-year-old sailor stationed in Annapolis, Md., in 1968 was arrested for getting into a fight with an alleged member of a street gang.

Now, more than four decades later, the 64-year-old U.S. Navy veteran has been stripped of his right to own a gun.

Jefferson Wayne Schrader of Cleveland, Ga., has been fighting a losing battle in the courts since 2008 to get his name off the fed’s firearm ban list.”

Does History Tell Us Why Obama’s Been Firing Senior Military Officers

” In recent months Obama has ended the careers of General Carter Ham USA, Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette USN, General John Allen USMC, General William Ward USA, General James Mad Dog Mattis USMC.

Then there were Generals Billy McChrystal and David Petraeus who made big headlines when they had their talks with the Commander in Chief..

There are a number of rumors circulating that almost all of these officers had questioned the Presidents, intentions, methods, integrity or truthfulness.

There was a recent article by Reaganite Republican ^  on freerepublic.com stating the the Russian’s believe the Obama Administration is terrified of Officiers who take their oath to support the Constitution seriously…. because put bluntly those officers pose a threat to his ability to rule by Unconstitutional Executive Fiat

Russian Military Intel Tells Kremlin Obama Fired Military Officers Because He ‘Fears a Coup’

According to (shadowy anonymous blogger) Sorcha Faal the Russian military’s GRU foreign intelligence unit presented a report to Kremlin leadership late last month that said Obama removed one of the United States Navy’s most powerful admirals from his command (in the wake of Benghazi 9/11) specifically because he fears a military coup is being planned against him.”

Iran Says Captures Two U.S.-Made Miniature surveillance Drones

” Iran said on December 4 that it had captured a U.S. intelligence ScanEagle drone in its air space over the Gulf in the previous few days, but the United States said there was no evidence to support the assertion.

The U.S. Navy said had not lost any unmanned aircraft in the area. The four-foot (1.25 meter) ScanEagle surveillance drones built by Boeing Co are deployed in the region by the United States military and also by other countries.”

N-UCAS Takes First Cat Shot

” The X-47B successfully completed it’s first shore-based tests of whether the aircraft is structurally sound and aeromechanically capable of getting airborne using the U.S. Navy’s current steam catapult system.  The drone cat shot took place at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Southern Maryland.

“The X-47B shore-based catapult launch we witnessed here today will leave a mark in history,” said Vice Adm. David Dunaway, NAVAIR commander. “We are working toward the future integration of unmanned aircraft on the carrier deck, something we didn’t envision 60 years ago when the steam catapult was first built here.” “
