Transportation Secrecy Administration

” Current and former federal air marshals allege that the Transportation Security Administration intentionally hid embarrassing  information about supervisors’ misconduct and targeted employees who sought to expose the truth.

The allegations revolve around TSA management’s overuse of an agency-specific designation called Sensitive Security Information (SSI). Though it is not classified, information deemed SSI is supposed to be kept from the public because it would harm transportation security. The marshals claim that the TSA has repeatedly abused the SSI classification, even going so far as to use it on fictitious information, in an effort to keep the public in the dark.

One current federal air marshal, whose name has been withheld for fear of retaliation, asserts that the TSA has repeatedly sought to silence its employees.

“ When it comes to the Air Marshal Service and TSA, when they are determined to f*** you, they are going to f***ing do everything in their power to make you out to be the bad guy, and they will twist every single word that they can to reflect their position [rather] than the truth,” says the marshal. “They want you to shut up, get on the plane, and sit down. They don’t want to fix any of the problems that exist.”

The marshal is not alone in making such allegations. In 2011, the TSA fired former federal air marshal Jose Job Lacson, who goes by the name “Jay.” Officially, Lacson was terminated for releasing SSI material online, despite his assertion that he made up the material in question. But he believes the TSA actually sought to punish him for blowing the whistle on his bosses. “

Yahoo Webcam Images From Millions Of Users Intercepted By GCHQ

GCHQ Yahoo Webcam Spying

” Britain’s surveillance agency GCHQ, with aid from the US National Security Agency, intercepted and stored the webcam images of millions of internet users not suspected of wrongdoing, secret documents reveal.

GCHQ files dating between 2008 and 2010 explicitly state that a surveillance program codenamed Optic Nerve collected still images of Yahoo webcam chats in bulk and saved them to agency databases, regardless of whether individual users were an intelligence target or not.

In one six-month period in 2008 alone, the agency collected webcam imagery – including substantial quantities of sexually explicit communications – from more than 1.8 million Yahoo user accounts globally.

Yahoo reacted furiously to the webcam interception when approached by the Guardian. The company denied any prior knowledge of the program, accusing the agencies of “a whole new level of violation of our users’ privacy“.

GCHQ does not have the technical means to make sure no images of UK or US citizens are collected and stored by the system, and there are no restrictions under UK law to prevent Americans’ images being accessed by British analysts without an individual warrant.

The documents also chronicle GCHQ’s sustained struggle to keep the large store of sexually explicit imagery collected by Optic Nerve away from the eyes of its staff, though there is little discussion about the privacy implications of storing this material in the first place.”

While the webcam intrusions allegedly took place between 2008 and 2010 the Guardian says that Operation Optic Nerve was ongoing at least as late as 2012 …

” Optic Nerve, the documents provided by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden show, began as a prototype in 2008 and was still active in 2012, according to an internal GCHQ wiki page accessed that year.

The system, eerily reminiscent of the telescreens evoked in George Orwell’s 1984, was used for experiments in automated facial recognition, to monitor GCHQ’s existing targets, and to discover new targets of interest. Such searches could be used to try to find terror suspects or criminals making use of multiple, anonymous user IDs.”

Disability Fraud Cost Taxpayers $2.5 Billion

SSI Fraud

” A Social Security Disability Office on the border of Kentucky and Huntington, W. Virginia, is at the center of federal investigations into the activities of SSD supervisors who turned over huge numbers of cases in order to boost their own bonuses. They set up shop with one attorney, an administrative law judge and several obliging doctors for several years.

“I’m flabbergasted,” said Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK), himself a physician, as he grilled witnesses for hours about the massive loss of taxpayer dollars.  “You abrogated your job as chief judge,” Senator Coburn told Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Charlie Andrus.  The alleged misdeeds of Judge David B. Daugherty were heard without his direct testimony because he fled the hearing room before proceedings began. And the attorney in question, Eric Conn, took the fifth on the advice of his own attorney.

Most pitiful to watch was the testimony of four female witnesses who told the Governmental Affairs Committee about numerous incidences of retaliation by SSD managers, supervisors, and even Judge Andrus himself who admitted playing a role in video taping Senior Clerk Sarah Carver, one of the principles in the whistleblower lawsuit.  Still employed, Carver, along with master docket clerk Jennifer Griffith, blew wide open the skulduggery that transferred about 2.5 billion taxpayer dollars into the benefit entitlements of disability claimants who were merely numbers on “DB’s Monthly Lists.”

Benghazi Attorney: Very Good Evidence People Were RELIEVED OF DUTY Because They Insisted On A Military Response

” Benghazi whistleblower attorney Joe DiGenova was on with WMAL this morning to talk Benghazi after last night’s 60 minutes piece and noted toward the end of the interview that there is very good evidence that people were relieved of command because they insisted on a military response and refused to not dispatch troops to aid our men on the ground in Benghazi. He also stated that the main reason there was no response was because the president went to sleep and refused to issue an order allowing our troops to fly into Libya.”

Celebrities Tell The NSA To Get Out Of Their Business

” Amongst those joining Crabapple and Wheaton are actors Maggie Gyllenhaal and John Cusack, director Oliver Stone, and talk show host Phil Donahue, as well as a number of whistleblowers, including Mark Klein, the former AT&T technician who has claimed for years the company was forwarding internet traffic to the government, and J. Kirk Wiebe, a former NSA analyst who went public with information about domestic surveillance programs.

The three-and-a-half minute video is directed by Brian Knappenberger, a documentary writer, director and producer arguably best known for his Anonymous documentary We Are Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists. Describing himself as “very honored” to create the video, Kaneppenberger called this “the moment for a large scale debate on the future of this thing we all love, the internet, the way we communicate, our relationship with our government and how technology and its progress can blend with more traditional notions of privacy, liberty and democracy.”

The rally, which is scheduled to take place in Washington D.C. this Saturday, is the culmination of an ongoing campaign on behalf of the EFF and more than 100 other organizations asking for current laws regarding internet surveillance to be amended to outlaw blanket surveillance, as well as the creation of a special committee to investigate just how widespread surveillance related to current NSA programs has been.”

Serious New Questions on Obama Labor Nominee

” Perez has faced questions about his misleading congressional testimony about his involvement in a quid pro quo deal with the city of St. Paul, Minnesota, that resulted in the dismissal of a Supreme Court case and taxpayers giving up a claim worth almost $200 million. He has refused to turn over private emails that he used to conduct Justice Department business and has refused to testify before the House despite a congressional subpoena. But apparently, that’s not all.

Now, David Weber, a lawyer representing current and former employees of the Civil Rights Division, which Perez oversaw, has sent out a press release accusing Perez of “substantial misconduct.” The employees, who are claiming whistleblower status, met with the staffs of Republican and Democratic Senators and turned over evidence of “disparate impact discrimination under the leadership of Mr. Perez.” This is significant because “disparate impact” is Perez’s favored legal theory—he has used it to pursue numerous businesses and other defendants in federal discrimination lawsuits.

The whistleblowers claim that Perez and his senior staff “began a widespread campaign” of discriminatory treatment against disabled employees as well as other employees “based on race; gender; age; and/or parental status.” The employees who opposed this discrimination were “subjected to an exceptionally hostile work environment and unlawful retaliation.” The whistleblowers include African-American, Hispanic, and female employees.”

Military Officers Replaced Under The Commander-in-Chief

” High-ranking officers in the United States military are being replaced by the Obama administration and for a number of dubious reasons. The latest is General John Allen, who was embroiled in the Petraeus affair.

” What is the red thread connecting several of these cases? An NSA whisteblower (Edward Snowden is only one of four major NSA whistleblowers) Russel Tice claims that the domestic spy agency is wiretapping and carrying out surveillance on top military officers. Listen to his interview below:”

” Whether or not this is true, and it certainly seems the NSA has the capability to do this, it raises several questions about the manner that several high-ranking military officers were removed. Is there any manner of entrapment or blackmail being carried out on military officers, who subsequently refuse to testify openly and honestly over sensitive national security matters?

The deafening silence over who exactly issued the Benghazi “stand down order” that plausibly resulted in the deaths of two CIA servicemen (who also disobeyed stand down orders) and the reprisals against administration whistleblowers suggest that a thorough public investigation into such matters is of utmost importance. If the federal government is being abused to silence critics of the administration, or if it is being wielded against those who refuse to obey illegal and immoral acts, representative government demands not just investigation, but decisive action.”

NSA Will Declassify Some Information On Surveillance Program

” National Security Agency’s collection of phone and email data so they can show Americans it has helped stop terrorism.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, R-Michigan, said Thursday he will put forward information as soon as next week, “that I think will allow the American public to better understand,” the NSA surveillance, which was leaked last week by a government contractor.

Rogers made the pledge after the head of the National Security Agency told lawmakers at a closed-door hearing that the government is not eavesdropping on America’s phone calls or reading their emails.”

The snooping did a great job in Boston and Ft Hood .

” Alexander said the NSA activities follow a strict “compliance regime” and are overseen by Congress, the Obama administration and the courts.”

That’s confidence inspiring … the foxes minding the hen house . It’s a shame that all three branches of government have become so discredited through partisanship and corruption that the people can only view them all as adversaries as opposed to watchdogs .

DHS Insider: It’s About To Get Very Ugly

” “If anyone thinks that what’s going on right now with all of this surveillance of American citizens is to fight some sort of foreign enemy, they’re delusional. If people think that this ‘scandal’ can’t get any worse, it will, hour by hour, day by day. This has the ability to bring down our national leadership, the administration and other senior elected officials working in collusion with this administration, both Republican and Democrats. People within the NSA, the Department of Justice, and others, they know who they are, need to come forth with the documentation of ‘policy and practice’ in their possession, disclose what they know, fight what’s going on, and just do their job. I have never seen anything like this, ever.

First, they intend to use the Justice Department to silence journalists like in the Rosen case, but they won’t stop there. They will use a host of national security policies, laws, letters, whatever to take out the bigger threats,” he stated.

Next, they will use some sort of excuse, an external threat, and I believe it will be a combination of the economic collapse and a Mid-East war that will begin in Syria to throttle the information that is accessible on the Internet. And you know what? People will believe it!”

Based on what I’ve seen, most of which I should not have seen, the DHS is co-ordinating efforts with other federal agencies to begin to threaten American citizens with incarceration for non-compliance. You know the old talk of color coded lists? Well, this is what they will be using. People exposing the truth about Benghazi, killing the U.S. Dollar, even those questioning Obama?s legal status and eligibility to be President are the current targets. And they’ve had five long years to get to this point. The ugly truth is that these policies and practices did not start under Obama, but long before. This is about the killing of our Constitutional Republic. The murder of our country and the stripping of our rights. While many have been preoccupied with one issue, few have seen the bigger issue. This is the ‘end game,’ for all the marbles,” he stated.”

Bradley Manning Trial ‘Dangerous’ For Civil Liberties – Experts

” The trial of Bradley Manning, the US soldier who leaked a trove of state secrets to WikiLeaks, could set an ominous precedent that will chill freedom of speech and turn the internet into a danger zone, legal experts have warned.

Of the 21 counts faced by the army private on Monday, at his trial at Fort Meade in Maryland, by far the most serious is that he knowingly gave intelligence information to al-Qaida by transmitting hundreds of thousands of classified documents to the open information website WikiLeaks. The leaked disclosures were first published by the Guardian and allied international newspapers.”

” Laurence Tribe, a Harvard professor who is considered to be the foremost liberal authority on constitutional law in the US and who taught the subject to President Barack Obama, told the Guardian that the charge could set a worrying precedent. He said: “Charging any individual with the extremely grave offense of ‘aiding the enemy’ on the basis of nothing beyond the fact that the individual posted leaked information on the web and thereby ‘knowingly gave intelligence information’ to whoever could gain access to it there, does indeed seem to break dangerous new ground.”

End Of The Line For Holder?

” Attorney General Eric Holder may have lied in testimony given to Congress given earlier this month. Even if it was not under oath, the offense would be a felony subject to a maximum of five years in prison. The exchange actually happened with Hank Johnson (he of “imagine a world without balloons” and other greatest gaffe hits). This is what the memory-challenged AG had to say:

First of all you’ve got a long way to go to try to prosecute the press for publication of material. This has not fared well in American history… In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy.

You see, Eric Holder is the kind of guy who remembers with fine detail what he did do to cover his behind, but when it comes to the actual main components of the scandal at hand, he just don’t know.

If it turns out that Holder lied to Congress when he said the prosecution of the press for publication of material “is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of,” the habitual line-stepper will be in career-ender kind of hot water. And it couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy; Holder has pulled off more improbable escapes than Harry Houdini.”

When It Rains, It Pours: Ten Press Conference Take Aways

” President Obama’s press conference in the rain was not a success, if by success, his supporters would mean an event which convinces anyone who doesn’t work for him that he’s getting ahead of the scandal deluge. The sight of a Marine holding an umbrella over his head only added to the weirdness of the event.

So what did we learn?

4. He wouldn’t say that the White House had no previous knowledge of IRS wrongdoing. Instead he said he didn’t have any knowledge of the Inspector General’s report before it was released.

5. He brought up funding for our embassies, referencing Benghazi, Libya. But of course we know that funding shortages had nothing to do with the fiasco that transpired. For claiming otherwise my colleague Glenn Kessler awarded Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) three Pinocchios.

10.  Mainstream media reaction to the president’s handling of the scandals ranges from bad to terrible. Sure there are some very creative excuse-makers for the president, but they are now in the decided minority.”

BENGHAZI LEADS TO CLINTON CONFIDANT FROM INVESTIGATIONS PAST

” This week was not the first time Cheryl Mills’ name has come up in a controversial manner at a congressional oversight hearing. In fact, it’s not the first time Ms. Mills has been the subject of potential wrongdoing in the very same hearing room–Room 2154 in the Rayburn House Office Building to be exact.

While being questioned under oath by Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Wednesday, former Deputy Ambassador to Libya Gregory Hicks testified that then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s chief of staff, Cheryl Mills, was “very upset” when she called him about his cooperation with congressional investigators.

Throughout the 1990s, Mills was a big part of the Clinton White House counsel’s office “damage control” detail. Name a Clinton scandal, and Cheryl Mills was usually running interference for the Clintons with congressional investigators. In fact, in 1998, Mills allegedly crossed the line in her dealings with the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee, who felt it was necessary to send a criminal referral to the Department of Justice regarding Mills’ activities and testimony on behalf of the Clinton White House. “

SENATOR: ‘The Dam Is About To Break On Benghazi’…

” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) wrote Tuesday he believes major revelations about the lead up to the Sept. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, are imminent, in a Facebook message:

“I think the dam is about to break on Benghazi. We’re going to find a system failure before, during, and after the attacks.

“We’re going to find political manipulation seven weeks before an election. We’re going to find people asleep at the switch when it comes to the State Department, including Hillary Clinton.”

BENGHAZI WHISTLEBLOWER HICKS: ‘TERRORIST ATTACK FROM THE GET-GO’

” Greg Hicks, former deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, told congressional investigators that the State Department’s internal review of the Benghazi attack “let people off the hook.” Hicks also contradicted the administration’s talking points that were making the Sunday news show rounds immediately following the attack.

Thus far, the State Department has placed blame on low-level staffers, despite evidence that the responsibility lies further up the ladder. Hicks told investigators that people are on administrative leave, pending disciplinary action, but that they are “below Senate confirmation level.” He went on to say that the Diplomatic Security assistant resigned but that “the paper trail is pretty clear that decisions were being made above his level.”

Hicks said that “for there to have been a demonstration on Chris Stevens’ front door and him not to have reported it is unbelievable. And secondly, if he had reported it, he would have been out the back door within minutes of any demonstration appearing anywhere near that facility. And there was a back gate to the facility, and, you know, it worked.”

Democrats Now Critical Of Rice’s Benghazi Explanation, Amid More Damaging Evidence

Benghazi_Dems_Distance

” Congressional Democrats on Sunday distanced themselves from the Obama administration’s explanation of the Benghazi, Libya, attacks in the immediate aftermath of the fatal strikes, amid mounting evidence that suggests the information was revised to intentionally mislead Americans.

The original explanation of the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on the U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya, was written by CIA officials, then revised by State Department and White House officials, according to news reports and witness testimony made available to Fox News.

Removed from the CIA’s so-called talking points were references to “Islamic extremists” and Al Qaeda in Libya And five days later, Susan Rice, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, made the Sunday talk show rounds to say the attacks were, in fact, “demonstrations” sparked by protests in Egypt over an anti-Islamic video on YouTube.

“Well, it was scrubbed,” Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Steve Lynch told “Fox News Sunday.” “It was totally inaccurate. There’s no excuse for that. It was false information.  And what they try to do is harmonize what happened in Benghazi with what happened everywhere else across the Middle East.”

“There are more Benghazi hearings coming, I think they’re going to be explosive,” Gowdy said on Fox News.

“I am bound by certain measures of confidentiality, but I would tell you that you are getting very warm,” Gowdy said when asked by a Fox News anchor whether witnesses could be coming forward. “[The hearings] are coming sooner rather than later.” “
